Triumph is Determined to Become the Most Well-Rounded Motorcycle Brand

1. Triumph is a multifaceted company. The brand is as known for their flagship modern classics as they are for their three-cylinder race engines. A few years ago they decided, “hey, let’s get good at even more stuff” and build a dirt bike. They competed in various motocross races in 2024, and plan to expand into Enduro racing in 2025. The team is led by four-time World Champion Paul Edmondson, who not only has an extensive racing resume, but also performed as James Bond’s stunt double in No Time To Die. Very on brand for the British manufacturer, I’ll say. Triumph has really got a lot going for them these days from beginner bikes, retro bikes, sporty bikes, and a now a motocross bike. Maybe their efforts in enduro racing will be the final nail in the coffin that allows them to take down KTM once and for all.

2. I don’t think I’m out of line when I say that 1% motorcycle clubs are bad for motorcycling. Well, it turns out that certain Hells Angels chapters were contracted by the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence to abduct, kill, and threaten “dissidents and regime critics” in over a half-dozen countries including the US, Switzerland, and Germany. The Hells Angels have been around so long they’re just taking on side quests now. How do these guys keep getting contract work? You’d think their reputation as freelance muscle would have been tarnished after they were hired as the security team at the deadly Altamont Speedway Music Festival in 1969.

3. Do my eyes deceive me? Is there actually a possibility that the Suzuki DRZ400 will be updated for 2025? Rumors based on uncovered patent filings show a motorcycle that looks very similar to the prehistoric 398 cc dual sport outfitted with an electronic ride-by-wire throttle, which means fuel injection (a technology that first made its way onto motorcycles like 40 years ago) is a likely possibility for the new DRZ. Dual Sport aficionados are chomping at the bit to find out whether or not the DRZ will finally get a six-speed gear box as well. For me personally, I am just excited to see the bold new graphics Suzuki is always wowing us with.

4. Dyna Bros, fear not. I know you were put in a tough spot when you were coerced into demolishing your Harley-Davidsons last month. But now you can pre-order the Buell Super Cruiser and finally know what it is like to ride a motorcycle that makes more than 60 horsepower. The Super Cruiser was designed with the help of famed bike builder Roland Sands. It takes a lot of its styling cues from the West Coast Dyna Stunt bikes, like a quarter fairing, T-bars, and a tall rear shock in the back. But thats where its similarities to a Harley Davidson end. It uses the 1190 cc V-Twin found in other Buell’s, that is good for around 185 horsepower and 110 ft-lbs. It has 17 inch wheels, USD forks, and Buell’s signature cooky perimeter brakes. The Buell Super Cruiser has that good ol’ “made in the USA” price tag, going for a cool $25,900.
